We are excited to welcome you to the 2019 In Vitro Biology Meeting, which will be held from June 8–12, 2019 in Tampa, Florida at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina. The program committee has worked extremely hard to make this a truly memorable and inspiring event. Synthetic biology and genome editing will be the focus of this year’s conference, highlighted by the keynote lecture of Prof. June Medford, who is a world leader in plant synthetic biology. We included several sessions that explore impressive technology advances in genome editing and their applications for product development such as: “Frontiers of In Vitro and Synthetic Biology”, “Genome Editing Technology Development: CAS9 and Beyond”, “Delivery of Genome Editing Reagents”, “Maximizing Gene Editing Target Specificity”, “Genome Editing for Crop Improvement”, “Protoplast Technology for Genome Editing”.  In addition, there are many sessions that cover challenges, breakthroughs and applications of animal and plant biotechnology.  Oral presentation competitions will showcase the excellent students and postdocs of our society. The SIVB has organized an off-site social event at the Florida Aquarium.  We also have organized a scientific tour on Wednesday afternoon to visit research programs of the nearby University of Florida Research and Education Center. This year’s meeting location offers extended walks along the Hillsborough river and is close to the nation’s top-rated beaches and theme parks. Plan an extra day or two to enjoy the sites.

See you in Tampa this June.
