2018 Student Poster Presentation Competition Winners

The SIVB student poster presentation competition was held during the 2018 annual meeting in St. Louis, MO. This competition was the 3rd year in a row and last that Martina organized for the student SIVB section, next year Abbas and Cristofer will host this competition. This year was very exciting to finally have all poster presenters included to participate and be reviewed and scored by judges as they presented their work. 2018 Plant Biotechnology Post Doctoral Oral Presentation Competition

To support the Society’s vision to encourage education and scientific informational exchange and recognize outstanding post docs, the Plant Biotechnology Section held a Plant Biotechnology Post-doctoral Oral Presentation Competition on Monday June 4th. A panel of judges evaluated the presentations using the following criteria: experimental design, data analysis, proper interpretation of the results, originality of the study, technical difficulty, appearance and ability of the post-doctoral candidate to present it. The Distinguished Scientist Award recognizes outstanding mid-career scientists who have made significant contributions to the field of in vitro biology and/or in the development of novel technologies that have advanced in vitro biology.
