President’s Report

Dear SIVB Members, The Fall Board of Directors (BOD) meeting was held on October 27th at the beautiful Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Resort, the home of our 2008 World Congress (June 14-18). The resort is northwest of Tucson at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The views from the resort are breathtaking. The hotel, accommodations and location are perfect for our meeting. The Program committee, under Dave Ellis, has done an excellent job to bring us an outstanding and truly International scientific program and along with a fun Social Program, the meeting promises to be very special. Fellow Award

The Fellow Award recognizes current members of the SIVB who have been active members for at least 10 years. A Fellow has made outstanding contributions in their area of specialization or discipline to include research, teaching, and administration in public, government, academic, or private industry activities. Distinguished Service Awards

David Jayme David Jayme received his B.S. (Chemistry, 1974) and M.S. (Biochemistry, 1975) degrees both from Brigham Young University (Provo, UT). He received his Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) in 1979. He received postdoctoral training (1979-1981) in the Department of Human Genetics and Physiology at Yale University School of Medicine (New Haven, CT), and then served as a Research Assistant Professor (1981-1983) of Pharmacology and Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia (Richmond, VA).
