To support the Society’s vision to encourage education and scientific informational exchange and recognize outstanding students the In Vitro Animal Cell Sciences Section is pleased to announce the 2010 Student Oral Presentation Competition. The Plant Biotechnology Section is pleased to announce both the 2010 Student and Post Doctoral Oral Presentation Competitions.
In Vitro Animal Cell Sciences Student Oral Presentation Competition
Students wishing to enter should submit a copy of their title and abstract to Dr. Lia Campbell at lcampbell@celltissuesystems.com no later than February 15, 2010. Only those abstracts formally submitted to lcampbell@celltissuesystems.com can be considered. Receipt of abstracts will be acknowledged electronically to the submitting student by Dr. Campbell.
Competition finalists will be selected based on the quality of the abstracts. The abstract should address the following: Background, Objectives, Methods, Results and Discussion and Conclusions. Where appropriate, the methods section should include a description of how reproducible results were ensured. The abstract must not include references. The abstract text must not exceed 1800 characters.
A panel of judges will evaluate the student presentations to be announced before the meeting. Criteria are experimental design, data analysis, proper interpretation of the results, originality of the study, technical difficulty, appearance and ability of the student to explain it. Winners will be presented with a certificate and a cash award at the Meeting.
DEADLINE to submit your abstract for the SIVB Oral Presentation Competition is February 15, 2010.
IMPORTANT: This competition is additional to your meeting presentation. If you are a finalist in the competition, you will present your work orally in the competition AS WELL AS presenting your abstract (poster or oral) as scheduled by the 2010 In Vitro Biology Meeting/12th IAPB World Congress.
